Climbhub (still in beta)

Thumbnail of Climbhub website

Online climbing guidebook and climbing community social network.

The Climbhub web application is a social networking site for rock climbers. Moderators with responsibility for climbing venues in different areas of the country can enter those venues into the Climbhub application, and enter the established climbing routes at that venue. Any registered user can then access the site and log which routes they have climbed, vote on route grades if they disagree with the guidebook grade, comment on the route and socialise with the other users of Climbhub (posting pictures and commenting on other's). People who have climbed new routes, can publicise them on Climbhubto encourage repeat ascents. The climbers who repeat a new route can then verify it on the site until it becomes an established route.

The Climbhub web application is being developed using the Ruby on Rails web application framework.

Andy Hunt Illustration

Designing a temporary holding page in lieu of a fully-fledged, Flash portfolio site.

Andy Hunt (one of the guys responsible for creating Gordon the Gopher!), quickly needed a holding page for his domain name in time for publication of an advert. This page is provisional, whilst we work on a more in-depth Flash portfolio site.

Andy has another trick up his sleeve which I will be helping him to implement soon. Watch this space...

Testimonials

Kate Catton, Author - Classmate Numeracy

Dave is really creative, but always prepared to reign it in for the purposes of a project that requires simplicity. In this case, in communicating maths strategies to children, teachers and parents.

Nigel Lapthorne, MD - Country Lane Foods

We're really pleased with the new level of professionalism our business portrays, since Dave's slick overhaul of our corporate identity; and are looking forward to working with moortor design on future projects.
